Dance, dance and forever dance
Hand-made paper dresses have appeared frequently in my work over the last few years. When I was working on the Artist Box of dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, which comprises a small dancing figure, I started to make more small dresses from materials ranging from Japanese rice paper, fabric, books, feathers, paper clocks, small objects like metal wings and all the way to Argentine wrappers of alfajores. Dance, dance and forever dance, where dresses dance slowly either alone or with others for a short while, expresses the the passage of time. Observation, contemplation, and serenity come to mind. An unhurried dance in an ever faster world.
