Transitions, Later, Before
This small 3-of-a-kind harmonica book measures about 12 x 12 cm. Front and back covers are made of matting board covered with pages from an old book. Layered over this base is a thin white and transparent fabric with some additional texture on the back cover. Both covers are joint by a white fabric tie on the right side. The book’s title, Transitions Later Before was typed on an old manual typewriter on a piece of water colored paper and then hand sewn onto the front cover.
The miniature photographs inside highlight some of the images from my photography series of the same title. The photographs are digital pigment prints. In this prototype they are individually printed and taped together. In the other 2 unique handmade harmonica books they were digitally joined together in a long line and then printed on long sheets of watercolor photography paper. They were cut to their edges and then folded into unique harmonica books.
Two of the 3 books are in collections and the prototype is owned by the artist.
